JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Software Integration Engineer, as a member of a cross functional team, has the overall responsibility for the SDK, API and integration efforts within the company. This includes:
• Updating the company SDK and API with new features and documentation.
• Adding support for new languages as market needs dictate to the organization’s SDK/API.
• Creating and maintaining standard integrations to other products as market needs dictate.
• Providing technical support for clients and third parties using the SDK/API.
The position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 5+ years experience designing, coding, debugging, and unit testing code for commercial grade software applications.
• Recent experience in
o C++, Java, .NET languages
o J2EE (v5 & v6)
o Development on Linux and Windows platforms
o Development and support of server side SDK and API software
o Developing and integrating with Web Services using SOAP and HTTP
o ActiveX
o Processing video streams (especially RTSP)
• 3+ years experience using software engineering tools for version control, defect tracking, and code compilation.

DESIRED SKILLS (the following “bonus” skills are not necessary for the candidate to possess, however candidates with bonus skills will be given preference over candidates without bonus skills):

• Experience with
o Agile development methodologies such as XP or Scrum.
o Integrating with one or more Video Management System (VMS) providers
• Familiarity with the ONVIF Specification (implementing ONVIF compliant web services and/or integrating with devices/software that implements ONVIF specified web services)
• Able to write technical documentation

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field is required. Candidates with Master's or PhD degrees in these fields are preferred.
